Bournemouth (Day Nursery) in Bloom
Lansdowne have been working hard on a special Jubilee Bournemouth in Bloom project. We have been using our imagination & creating lots of different models such as a swan, a double-decker London bus, Big Ben & even the Queen’s horse! Veronica has been busy helping the children plant a beautiful flower display with red, white & blue flowers. Our display was judged by Bournemouth in Bloom on Thursday 26th of May & we will find out how well we’ve done on Friday 17th June, when we

A Right Royal Visit
Our Jubilee celebrations have started a little early as our preschool class were kindly invited to Winton Library to enjoy some stories & crafts. We listened to two stories, one about a make-believe queen & one about our real Queen, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Afterwards, we made The Queen’s golden carriage out of gold paper plates with paper wheels & windows. We even added a Union Jack flag & a picture of The Queen waving from the window! Thank you so much Winton Library

Volatile Volcanoes
Preschool have been learning all about Dinosaurs & their unstable prehistoric world, so we decided to make our very own volcano! We made the structure of our volcano out of a bottle & an egg crate & used papier-mâché to make its jagged, rocky surface. We talked about the hot lava that comes spewing out of volcanoes & how they can be very dangerous. When discussing what we'd do if we were ever near to an erupting volcano, one of our friends suggested, "just RUN" & we all agree

The Heart of Any Home (or Nursery!)
Meet our dedicated kitchen team! The wonderful Angie is our head chef of both Lansdowne & Talbot Woods & along side her are her trusty kitchen assistants: Antonella & Julia. Our lovely ladies provide healthy, balanced, nutritious meals daily & cater to any dietary requirements, allergies & preferences our children may have. We are excited to introduce our new summer menu, including sweet & sour chicken with noodles. Thank you, kitchen team, for all your hard work!

Bubble & Squeak!
Pre-School were in for the biggest treat when Christina kindly brought in her two beautiful bunnies – meet Bubble & Squeak! We learnt that there are many different species of rabbit: some with pointy ears & some with floppy ones & that they have different fur types. We also learnt about the different foods rabbits like to eat. Bubble & Squeak were so cute & felt very soft, like velvet. Thank you very much Christina for sharing your bunnies with us, we learnt so much & had so

Beach Bums
Is there anything better than a trip to the beach on a sunny day? 123s had a wonderful time building sandcastles, talking about which animals live in the sea & munching a mini picnic! On the way back to nursery, we walked through Bournemouth Gardens & tried to spot some fish in the little canal. Then, we visited the birds in the aviary & talked about their different colours & sizes. To top off our amazing afternoon, as if we hadn’t had enough fun, we even got to ride the bus!

We are now on Instagram!

Kings & Queens of Camouflage!
Inspired by our current topic of ‘jungle animals', Preschool has been learning all about camouflage! We created a beautiful camouflage collage using plants we found in the garden & talked about their different textures, colours & sizes. We also discussed how plants might help animals blend into their surroundings. Later, we made biscuits in honour of the kings & queens of camouflage – Tigers! We took turns to mix all the different ingredients together & carefully squeezed & g

Taylor's Next Steps
The lovely Taylor joined us in 2018 & completed her level two in childcare in 2019. Unfortunately, due to Covid, Taylor has been unable to start her level 3 until now. "Working with children has always been a passion of mine. I love to see the role I have in a child’s development, watching them learn & grow in confidence & ability." Good luck Taylor, we wish you every success & will support you every step of the way!
