What on Earth?
123s have been learning all about planet Earth. After reading a book about Earth with Beth, we all discussed what we have here on our home planet, for example cars, planes, animals & mud. We talked about what we love on Earth such as dogs, Peppa Pig, our Mummies & Daddies & the beach. Some of our friends quite rightly said “there's no mummy on the Moon" & that "we would melt if we lived on the Sun!” We made a big picture of the Earth by carefully cutting up different shades o

Veronica’s Beautiful Blooms Win Bronze!
Huge congratulations go to our Under 2s practitioner, Veronica, for achieving two Bournemouth in Bloom bronze awards for her stunning garden! Gardening at home is a passion for Veronica & something she loves to share with the children at Lansdowne.

Did You Know Aliens Love Underpants?
Inspired by one of our favourite books, Aliens Love Underpants, we decided to make some colourful underpants for our intergalactic friends! Using bright paints & paper shapes, we created different patterns on our underpants templates. When they were finished & as vivid as possible, we hung our underpants on our washing line for the aliens to find & just like magic, when we returned after lunch, all the pants were gone! Remembrance Day
In honour of Remembrance Day, Pre-school created a beautiful poppy display. We carefully cut up different shades of red tissue paper & stuck them onto our poppy outlines. We learned all about Remembrance Day & why it’s so important to remember brave people from the past. Gemma helped us exhibit our colourful poppies in the window for everyone to enjoy.

Happy Diwali!
To celebrate the festival of lights, our under 2s were kindly joined by one of our parents who helped us paint some beautiful firework pictures. We used our hands & brushes to create bright, swirling patterns, just like fireworks lighting up the night sky! Meanwhile, pre-school watched a film about the festival of lights & all about what happens for Diwali & why it’s celebrated. They then made a giant Diva lamp picture and Rangoli patterns using chickpeas, kidney beans & gree

No Tricks, Just Treats!
We had a scarily good time celebrating Halloween at Lansdowne! Everyone was in frightening fancy dress & made spooky skeleton pictures. We also got stuck into a sensory tray inspired by one of our favourite books ‘Room on the Broom’. Thankfully, there were no tricks, just treats!

Another very Happy Birthday!
“A huge thank you to all of you who have made a special effort for my little boy's birthday. The whole way home he has been telling me about his party, balloons, Bryony, Berlynn, pasta, apples and cuddles! He also said that happy birthday was sung. He’s very excited & jumping around (unless it’s the cake!!) which is no doubt thanks to your special efforts for both his birthday and Halloween.”
