We are proud to introduce our newest member of the Lansdowne team, Betty. Having previously joined us for work experience, Betty has now become an apprentice practitioner. “Working with children is something I’ve always wanted to do. Our 123s went on a trip to the local green grocers to look for some seasonal British fruit & veg. Whilst at the shop, we discussed the different colours of the fruit & veg we saw & which ones we liked to eat the most. We also talked about the different seasons & which fruit & vegetables are ripe at this time of year. We picked up a bright orange pumpkin & headed back to nursery where we took turns to help clean it & carve it. We made sure to get all of the flesh & seeds out f
Our under 2s have thoroughly enjoyed this week's topic of 'The Gruffalo'. The book inspired a role-play Gruffalo hunt around the garden where we explored autumn nature & collected sticks, leaves & pinecones for a nature-themed sensory tray.
Pre-school have been making the most of the crisp mornings in the garden. We've been enjoying all the beautiful colours of the autumn leaves, which inspired us to do some collaging. We collected lots of interesting resources, such as sticks & leaves & discussed their different shapes & sizes. Then we carefully cut out pieces of tissue paper & colour-matched them to the leaves we had foraged. We glued our tissue & leaves to our paper, creating the different shades & patterns o
