Kon’nichiwa!
Preschool have loved learning all about Japan! We learnt how to say hello in Japanese, found where Japan is on a world map & made our own Japanese flags. We also learnt about Hanami, the Japanese cherry blossom festival & decided to paint our own beautiful cherry tree, mixing different shades of red, white, orange & pink & dabbing them on the paper to emulate the delicate blossom. Angie even prepared a lovely Japanese meal for the whole nursery, yakisoba chicken noodles & mat

Skilful Scrapbooking
Preschool have been busy filling their leavers’ scrapbooks with all the key skills we’ve learnt & will likely need when we get to ‘big school’! We’ve been learning about phonics, focussing on the sounds within our names, as well as practising writing our names & trying to copy the letters as accurately as we can. We’ve included our independent care; making sure we are dressed & ready for school on time & are confident in doing things like eating our lunch & going to the toile

Leavers' Picnics
Thank you to everyone who came to the first of this year’s Leavers’ Picnics! We enjoyed a wonderful story time, goodie bags & of course, a yummy picnic! Each summer we like to introduce children (& parents) who will be attending the same school in September from both of our nurseries. It’s always comforting to know there will be a familiar face when you arrive in a new place!

Splish Splash!
This week, Under 3s have been learning all about music & movement. We had the best time dancing, splashing & going through the tunnels & in & out of the tent!

Forever Foodies!
Whilst mark making with play doh, 123s decided they wanted to use their finely tuned skills on real dough & make pizza! We all took turns to help measure out the ingredients, paying close attention to the numbers on the scales. We kneaded the dough & tried to make it as circular as possible, then, we spread a layer of delicious tomato sauce over the top. Before we decorated our pizzas, we tried a little bit of each of the toppings & talked about which ones we thought would go

Superhero Day!
Preschool made a marvellous effort dressing up for Superhero Day! We talked all about our own heroes, our mummies & daddies & the police & paramedics who save people everyday. We also read one of our favourite stories: Supertato! Then, just like Supertato does, we saved some veggies that were trapped underwater & in ice. We also made our own Supertatoes & did some beautiful potato printing, all while discussing why it’s so important to have lots of super tasty veggies in our
