Last week we were cooking up a storm here at Bournemouth Day Nursery. As part of their home learning, Lansdowne Road’s Foundation class created their own recipes, which they then cooked at nursery - with delicious results! They made Evie's 'Mr Wolf's Berry Pancakes’, Everly's ‘Harry and the Dinosaur’s Australian Anzac Biscuits' & Theo brought in his ‘Cheeky Monkey Puzzle Banana Bread'. Our learning theme this month is stories, so at Lansdowne, Pre-school made a cosy new home for Snake from one of their favourite books, The Gruffalo. Snake’s home was made out of twigs & leaves & other natural resources that they collected from our garden. Pre-school were also inspired by another story; the Roald Dahl classic Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, to design recipes for a special reduced sugar chocolate bar.
Our Pre-School wanted to do something special for Mother’s Day, so they each made a decorated potted plant & a card for their Mummy. At Lansdowne Road, the Under 2s explored a sensory messy tray, finding hidden animal pictures & later listened to their favour
This month at Bournemouth Day Nursery, our learning theme is transport, which has brought about much delight! All of our classes have been model-making like mad & have created some fantastic art. Our Under 2s class painted a beautiful blue aeroplane, whilst our 1-2-3s & Pre-school classes made some big red & yellow buses, which incorporated a range of different materials from pom-poms & glitter to photos of their own friends & family happily riding the bus. They also created
